Dear Friends,
Lately, I have been doing many readings with people who have found their relatives from the results of DNA tests. dI find the ability to connect to relatives and people we didn't know we were related to via DNA testing is fascinating.
The other night, I had my own DNA surprise. I was a bit antsy and couldn't fall asleep. I felt a push to really look at my DNA results and specifically, my relative connections. Although I have had my results for months, I had never looked beyond the first page of relatives whose DNA was similar to mine. Spirit whispered that someone would come up that would astound me. And so lying in my bed, my laptop propped on a pillow on my lap, I went through the pages of my report.
I recognized some family names that my parents had mentioned in the past. When I came across the name of the son of a famous singer who my father always said we were related to, I burst out laughing. We never believed my father's claim to fame and here it was right in front of me! I could hear my father say "See I told you!" Although I could have stopped there ... perhaps assuming that validating my father's famous lineage was what I needed to find for some reason ... I felt Spirit nudging me further on. So as the screen in front of me lit up the room, the light inside of me compelled me forward. There was more.
Further down the page was a name I recognized and never knew was a part of my family!! I was shocked! The name of the husband of one of my closest friends ... as well as the names of her children ... were staring right at me. Her husband is my third cousin! In the eighteen or nineteen years I have known them, I always felt a bond to her and her children (my biological cousins). Yet Spirit never told me that I was spending time with relatives! I was elated by the machinations of the universe. All this time there was not even one or two degrees of separation between us! I felt as though the universe was getting a kick out of this. Was this another wake up call to me? Was this the universe's way of saying ''We will never cease to amaze you? Keep your mind and soul open to all that we are bringing your way." I know this was the message. I sometimes forget that there are always calls to new awakenings; new ways to get in touch with my soul and God. I know this is true for you as well.
The universe and Spirit gave this unexpected gift to me. I don't know the reason why (but am certain it will be revealed to me). I love that these little "wake up calls" are to make me more alert and provide sustenance for me on my journey. This experience also made me once again feel our deep connection to each other ... whether it is by our biological DNA or our spiritual DNA ... through the eons and many lifetimes. We all walk through life feeling pulled to certain people. Sometimes after the first introduction we feel like we have known a certain person forever. This is because we have on a soul level!
I feel that way often about the people who come to me for readings, events and retreats. Sometimes people say they feel a soul connection to me as well. It is profound and beyond words to feel that soul connection. I hope that you allow yourself to feel it and maybe even give voice to it. You never know the response you may receive.
